Samsung Galaxy S4 users can make use of the Download Mode aka ODIN Mode for installing firmwares manually. This mode only works with a Samsung flashing tool called ODIN. Team Android has a number of official firmware updates which are installed by entering Download Mode.
Hi,I just tried to install the CWM recovery on a Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 using Odin 4.42 and cwm-recovery file found on droidthunder. The process failed (it took ages but the process never stopped) and now the only functionality left is the download mode, even the recovery mode is broken. When trying to standard boot or to enter recovery mode the screen only shows a computer symbol and a mobile symbol and a broken connection between them.
I tried several tipps and tricks (using odin, heimdall and a java one-click tool - forgot the name) but up to now nothing helped: all processes fail with unspecific messages or nothing happens.Maybe someone has another tool suggestion or a hardcore solution like 'take this file and dd to address XXX'?Thanks in advance. Cheers, doridan.
